Wood Pellet Horse Bedding
MJF Wood Pellet Horse Bedding is produced from 100% pure sawdust and shavings from sawmills processing timber from sustainably managed forest plantations in the UK. There are no additives of any kind in our wood pellet horse bedding, the natural lignin in the wood binds the product together when it is subjected to the vast heat during the pelletization process.
MJF Wood Pellet Horse bedding
Reduces ammonia odour The Wood Pellet Horse Bedding when activated by water produces a soft bed of pure sawdust from virgin timber which will absorb the horses urine, as the urine produces clumps into the soft sawdust particles, it is easily removed therefore reducing the amount of urine in the stable and the smell which is healthier for both horse and for the rider. Reduces your muck heap The Wood Pellet Horse Bedding will also reduce the amount of waste taken from the stable dramatically, as the Horse muck will sit on top of the soft bedding, and with the urine forming clumps easily visible this is easily removed with the Fine tyne fork. The amount of wood pellet bedding removed from the stable could be halved compared to shavings. Less labour intensive Highly compressed product less storage 100% biodegradable Can also be used as small animal bedding
How the wood pellet horse bedding is used in stables (Suitable for rubber matting and concrete floors) First clean the stable thoroughly then spread the Wood Pellet Horse Bedding thinly and evenly on the stable floor. On average a stable will need approximately 10 – 12, 10kg bags for a 12’x12’ stable (6 - 8 for rubber matting) It is advisable to spray the Wood Pellet Horse bedding with a watering can to establish how much water is actually needed to activate this ultra dry Wood Pellet Horse Bedding, the wood pellet horse bedding will rapidly fluff up to four times its volume and become about 40% more absorbent than wood shavings. The fine tine fork is used to spread the wood pellet horse bedding through the stable. Mucking Out Only the manure and urine–soaked spots should be removed. With the super absorbency of the fluffed up wood pellet horse bedding and the efficient removal of wet spots ammonia fumes are sharply reduced or eliminated. Because of the less quantity of waste taken out, muck heaps should be reduced by up to 40%. Your waste will have a higher ratio of manure to carbon rich wood pellets. This provides a mixture that is highly suitable for composting. Cost Savings Less wood pellet horse bedding is taken out from the stables compared to shavings leading to savings in time wasting volume and money. Ongoing care of your pellet bed After the initial installation only 1-2 bags of wood pellet horse bedding is needed to be added each week, it’s advisable to give the stable a light misty spray to maintain the fluff of the product. Keeping the wood pellet bedding damp will eliminate the possibility of dust and both wet and dry hoof problems, while not creating a wet feeling bed, for your horse to lie on.
